How do you find a FTP user name and password?

I downloaded a Word Press plug-in and it is asking for my FTP user name and password. I don’t know how to find this. Hope nobody is laughing at me because it seems like something I should know. I know what FTP stands for but I don’t understand it and how to get the password. Help Please! I have a Mac Operating System. Air Book.

   They are asking the FTP user name and password of the website.See when you get a webspace they will provide you the FTP logins(user name and password).

   Hello,

   If you contact your web host, they will have this information and can send it to you. If you do not have a web host, you will need to get one to upload wordpress.
